I might be in a movie

Thursday, my neighbor friend and I went to a local food pantry. There’s bunches of them around here.

Anyway, while we were there, a tall, thin woman came up to me and said she worked for the area food bank (Blue Ridge Area Food Bank) and asked if she could take pictures of me going through the line.

Since I’ve worked on food bank stories and also included them in other stories I’ve written about food prices or the kids at the Boys and Girls Club, I asked her name (I know their PR person professionally).

It turned out to be her, Ruth Jones. I introduced myself (we’ve never actually met though we’ve collaborated together on the stories I mentioned). I think I shocked her. LOL πŸ˜€

All I could hear in my mind, when she stepped back a moment was, “Huh? What’s SHE doing here?”

I told her, sure she could follow me around – it’s just a run about 25 or 30 feet or so, with volunteers from the United Methodist Church putting foodstuffs on a cart for the people.

She followed me out to my friend’s car (we carpool to save gas), while she snapped pictures or videotaped my helper load up the groceries into the back seat.

Then it was time to say goodbye. I told her to send me some good photos.

Ruth looked like she felt bad for me; I don’t know if she did. But she said she wants to work together soon.

I’m figuring to help out the food bank.

That would be cool.
